Dog Grooming Service Agreement
A big tail-wagging welcome to Woofers! We’re paws-itively thrilled to have you and your furry friend join our pack. Your pup’s safety and comfort are our top priorities while they’re in our care. We ask all clients to read and sign our grooming contract to keep things as smooth as a freshly groomed coat. This helps us be as transparent as a squeaky-clean doggo and ensures you have all the important info about our grooming process.
Now, let’s get ready for some paw-some pampering!

When booking, you must ensure:
-
Suitable parking is available nearby (street parking or driveway)

Upon arrival, please allow at least 20 minutes for water heating and equipment setup before bringing your dog to the van.
If this is your dog’s first appointment with us, we ask that we plug in and set up first, after which we will discuss your dog’s grooming requirements.
Cancellations
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations can be made via phone call, text message, or WhatsApp.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.
Health & Safety
Fleas and Ticks
If fleas or ticks are discovered during grooming, treatment is mandatory, and an additional fee will apply. This is to prevent the spread of infestation.
Fleas can lead to further health issues such as tapeworms. We strongly recommend that all dogs are kept on a regular monthly flea prevention treatment.
Health and Medical Issues / Senior Dogs
Grooming can be stressful, particularly for senior dogs or dogs with underlying health conditions, and may occasionally expose previously unknown medical issues.
For these dogs, comfort, cleanliness, and welfare will always take priority over aesthetics.
By agreeing to these terms, you authorise Woofers Dog Groomer to seek immediate veterinary treatment if deemed necessary. We will always attempt to contact you first.
Any veterinary fees incurred will be the responsibility of the owner.
Matted Coats / Mat Removal Risk
In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, we will not spend more than 15 minutes de-matting a dog.
Severely matted coats may need to be clipped short for the dog’s comfort and welfare. Matting can be painful, restrict movement, cause skin irritation, and hide infections.
-
A de-matting fee will apply due to additional time and equipment wear
-
Severe mat removal may require shaving, which carries risks such as cuts, skin irritation, or exposure of existing skin conditions
-
After grooming, dogs may experience temporary itchiness, redness, or behaviour changes
-
Shaved dogs are more susceptible to sunburn and should be protected accordingly
Regular grooming appointments help prevent matting and associated health risks.
Vaccination
All dogs must have completed their full puppy vaccination course (up to 12 weeks of age) before their first grooming appointment.
Annual booster vaccinations after the puppy course are the owner’s personal choice. However, failure to keep vaccinations up to date may invalidate your pet insurance.
Woofers Dog Groomer accepts no responsibility for any illness or condition arising from a dog being unvaccinated.
Behaviour and handling
Aggressive Behaviour
Please inform us if your dog is aggressive towards people. A muzzle may be used if necessary.
Aggressive or Difficult Dogs
Owners must inform us in advance if their dog:
-
Has a history of biting
-
Displays aggressive behaviour
-
Reacts negatively to grooming or handling
For safety reasons, a muzzle may be used if necessary. Muzzles do not harm dogs and are used solely as a protective measure.
A handling fee may apply for aggressive or difficult dogs.
Woofers Dog Groomer reserves the right to refuse or stop a groom at any time if a dog cannot be groomed safely.
Toilet breaks
We strongly recommend a 20-minute sniff walk before the grooming appointment. This allows your dog to toilet, relax, and settle.
Sniffing helps increase oxygen flow to the brain and can significantly reduce stress, particularly for senior dogs.
Owner responsibilities and liabilities
Pre-existing conditions
Owners must disclose any medical or behavioural conditions, including but not limited to:
-
Recent surgery (including dental procedures)
-
Illness or injury
-
Changes in behaviour
We will inform you if we notice any lumps, bumps, or abnormalities during grooming.
Emergency vet authorisation
Accidents and emergency’s

In the event of a medical emergency:

We will administer first aid
-

-
We may transport your dog to your nominated veterinary practice if required
